GM Infinite e-city (electronic city) water and air pollution

0

Consider this. I have seen this apartment, price is good.

But since I work in pollution control board, I took sample of water in this area and get it tested in our lab. I found it highly toxic with high degree of organic and non-organic solvents. I found insecticide, herbicide, lots of organohalides and other chemical compounds like polychlorinated biphenyl, trichloroethylene, perchlorate apart from “very-very” high level of lead, arsenic, mercury, copper and cadmium. The levels are so high that one can get kidney, liver, central nervous system, bone, teeth and many other life threatening diseases.

This place is also “very-very” high on air pollutants including SO2, NO2, RSPM. Most importantly this place is extremely high on NMVOCs benzene, xylene, toluene and 1,3-butadiene. Most of these carcinogens (leading to cancer, even leukemia) with prolonged exposure.

Source of these pollutants are the toxic wastes and industrial waste from the industries that are within 500 meters – 1KM of aerial distance from this site (on Bommasandra-Jigni road). Please check in the google maps about the industries that are near to this site. Most of these are SSI, MSI and generally uncontrolled and does not have infrastructure to minimise the industrial waste.

Now it is your decision to either buy an apartment at such a place. You may save 10 lakh by living at such a place. But your and your loved once life is precious. My sincere request is not to let your kids, family (or even someone else family, if you are considering this for investment) stay in such an environment. Breathing at such a place can affect generations (by changing genetic bio-markers) including congenital deformities.

List of industries within 0.5km – 1km radius to GM infinity are –

ARS Metal Treaters
Industrial Sprays
Megmatic NDT Systems
Rajni Alloys
Minox Metal Pvt
Durga Engineering works
Aerocision Aerocomp
BNP Autosteels

Monier Roofing
Gearock Forge
Manish Aluminium pvt ltd
Mesha Engineering
Technova Tapes
Fine components and Tools Pvt Ltd

Nikhil,

Thanks for your info. Appreciate a lot for analysis.

According to you, which place is safe to live in Bangalore ???? plz suggest.

Also, Neo Town is very close to G M Infinite. So it is equally applicable to Smodo and Neo Town as well. In fact, it is equally applicable to each and every residential project in Electronic City – Phase I.

Am I right ???

Correct, so GM infinite and NeoTown is a big NO. I am suggesting all the people to keep away from apartments in any industrial area and consider better places. There are many places and apartments still away from direct pollution. I am not against GM infinite in anyway. But living at such a place is not worthwhile, whether it is NeoTown or GM Infinite.

Lots of these units are dying, metal processing and units using dangerous gases. So, think Bhopal before putting your hard earned money here. After-all, no one wants mentally retarded children or cancer. Most of the people who wants to invest are young people and they don’t see the danger coming their way by investing in this apartment. For your information, industrial pollution is major cause for lung, colon and blood cancer. And also related to lung, heart and nervous system diseases. And they can even change the DNA markers in body, affecting generations.

So, I have just advised people to keep away from such areas, including GM Infinite and NeoTown.

If that is the case Neotown,Prestige sun rise park,Shriram summit, people who will visit s/w companies daily, people who are working daily in those industries cant live know.Because in 2kms range .number of ecity companies are there. And about driniking water,am staying in city and i am already dependent on water cans for everything.

Please suggest you are against whole ecity itself ? because whole ecity is in 3-4kms range.

If Mr Nikhil has written this comment for e-city area and other similar areas of Bangalore like Mysore Road, Koramangala, Peenya, Yeswantpur, Yelahanka etc I would have appreciated the same. These areas and other similar areas of Bangalore are having large number of industrial complexes and are subjected to the hazards of pollution. So all the residential complexes of all major, medium and minor builders/developers are subjected to the same hazards as that of DM infinite projects. But Mr Nikhil has single out the DM project leaving other more popular and famous names like Godrej, Sobha, Salarpuria, sriram etc etc (several hundreds).  His article gives an impression as if he is having some grudge against DM Infinite group or is prompted to write by some vested interests.  However, I agree that there is pollution hazard not merely to the project of DM infinite in e-city, but all the projects in e-city, Bommasandra and other industrial centers in Bangalore, as mentioned earlier by me.

Hi All

I have booked a 3 BHK Flat in GM Ecity Town Phase-I for good price and now my flat price increased to double. That is good location and many builders coming with big Residential projects like Prestige, MJR , Arat , Neo Town and etc … Phase II pre launch going now as 3450/- per sft and no one giving that price in Electronic city. Phase I construction is going very fast with good quality and with all legal documents

I don’t see any industrial pollution and water also good … Its nice residential location …. i saw Neo IT HUB and Malll is getting ready.

As per my experience We can trust and invest/buy flat in GM Ecity Town.

Hey Nikhil,

Thanks for your insight; but aren’t we in the same situation almost everywhere in the city?

I guess the best situation out of this is to invest in good water purifier.

Good example of Bhopal gas leak; well people do stay in Bhopal and these accidents can happen anywhere and everywhere. We cannot blame a particular locality in this regard.

I am personally pretty happy with the way things are proceeding in this project.

I hope to move into my new HOME next Diwali.

Connect with me in case you have any queries.

Best regards,

Subhendu

Hey one more thing, just to add about Electronic City:

It is one of the most multi-cultural zone in Bangalore and it is the 1st Smart City in India and is being mentored and developed by Cisco.

@ALL,

Since there is no single platform to discuss all concerns related to G M Infinite – II, I have created FB Group.

If you wish, you can join and help others by sharing your views.

Cheers :–
