I also came to know recently that SJR & Bren are same. Also got to read a lot of bad reviews for SJR. Has anyone purchased from them.
Recently there was an AD for new project from SJR. It is Mayfair. Can some one guide me as to invest in these builders or not.
Hi Nivedita, i would suggest you to wait for sometime to invest in real estate. This isn’t right time to invest in any project.
Specific to SJR\BREN, there is no right time at all. They are always bad, irrespective of market.
Guys, one suggestion you must follow, if you are starting any talks with any Bren\SJR property.
After starting initial talks, if SJR\Bren marketing team feels you are not potential buyer for them, they immediately distribute your mail id and phone number to local builders and you will end up with too many unwanted calls that confuse you alot.
Please think twice before sharing your contact info with Bren\SJR.
I was searching for a home in 80 lacs range and i though Celestia is in my range, apparently it is 1.2 crs range. They tried to convince me to buy trillium, which is absolutely in a shitty location. The moment they realized that they ran out of options, with in 2 days my mail box is exploding with too many emails from local builders. I’m not saying local builders are bad, but how did they come to know about my mail id and phone number?

Prasad might have confused SJR Celestia with Salarpuria Celesta. His project might be close to Salarpuria Celesta which is in OMR

I suggest you to look threads for SJR’s current projects, and delay involved.
You can extrapolate this info to understand how much time they are going to take to finish.

Also, I am confused with SJR and BREN Corp. They both seem to be from same builder and have renamed from SJR to Bren. But still confused, bcoz there r new projects from SJR and even Bren. And they hv not sticked to just one name.
Yeah, on papers these two are different. But Both belong to same family(two brothers). Elder one owns SJR primecorp, younger one owns SJR Bren corp. Both are almost same.
SJR and BREN belongs to the same family. Due to some family issues, the brothers split. BREN stands for Boopesh Reddy etc etc… can’t recollect now. I’ve heard that both are equally bad.
In this market, all developers seem to charge exorbitant rates irrespective of location and term their projects LUXURY with mediocre specifications. I for one am not sure which one to take. Cos in the end of the day, all are shitty quality. I’ve heard Sobha is the best of the lot. But they are way to expensive… charge a premium over any builder in a given location. Will have to sell a freaking kidney to be able to afford a house in Bangalore and get decent quality.
Land too is exhorbitant to think of constructing in a decent neighbhourhood.
